Your Child's Safety Is Our First Priority
Every decision we make at Studio Kids begins with one question: Is this safe for children? From our secure entry system to our staff training protocols, we have built a comprehensive safety culture – so you can drop off with complete confidence.
Facility Security
Our facility uses multiple layers of security to ensure only authorized individuals have access:
- Keypad entry for staff - all access is controlled and monitored
- Building alarm system for off-hours security
- Video camera monitoring throughout the facility
- Required Procare sign-in and sign-out for every child upon arrival and departure
- Staff will not release children to any unauthorized individual
- Staff are trained to identify and act on impairment - children will not be released to anyone appearing intoxicated or under the influence

Children must stay home if they exhibit any of the following symptoms:
- Fever of 100°F or higher
- Sore throat or persistent cough
- Discolored nasal drainage or inflamed eyes

Emergency Preparedness
Emergency preparedness is not an afterthought at Studio Kids – it is a core part of our culture. Plans are reviewed annually, and our staff are trained for every scenario. The specific type of emergency guides where care is provided and what steps are taken.
- Shelter in Place: Used for weather emergencies or unsafe outside conditions.
- Children remain indoors, all doors are locked, and parents are notified if early pickup is needed.
- Evacuation: If the building is unsafe, children are moved to pre-arranged alternate sites including Downey Elementary School, Hillside Adventist Church, or the PA State Farm Show.
- Lockdown Procedure: Staff lock classrooms, turn off lights, collect the emergency bag and walkie-talkie, secure the door, and move children to a safe interior location.
- Infant and Toddler Accommodations: All teachers gather children and proceed to the nearest exit. Extra staff report to infant and toddler rooms to assist. Baby cribs and playpens are used to safely transport the youngest children.
- Parent Notification: Parents are called as soon as it is safe to do so. If evacuation occurs, a notice is placed on the center door with the alternate location. Reunification is coordinated via Procare, group text, or phone call.
- Continuity of Operations: Families are notified via Procare, phone, email, and group text. A decision on continued care is made within 24 hours.
- Fire drills conducted every 60 days for all age groups
- Emergency contact forms must be reviewed, signed, and updated every 6 months or when information changes
- In the event of a 2-hour school delay, the center opens at 8:30 AM (cutoff: 10:00 AM). Delay notifications posted on ABC Channel 27
