Our Story
Building Bright Futures in Harrisburg
Since 2014
Studio Kids Learning Center was founded on a simple belief: Every child deserves to be loved, supported, and inspired. Located at 1223 N. Cameron Street in Harrisburg, we opened our doors in 2014 and have grown into a cornerstone of the community – a place where families feel at home from day one.
From infants to school-age children, our programs nurture the whole child: emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically. We hold Pennsylvania’s highest childcare designation – a Four-Star Keystone STARS rating – which reflects our unwavering commitment to quality, continuous staff training, and compliance with the most rigorous childcare standards in the state.
We partner with working families across Harrisburg, including those supported through Child Care Works (CCW), because quality care should be within reach for everyone.

Our Team
Studio Kids is home to a remarkably stable and dedicated staff. Most of our educators have been part of the Studio Kids family for at least three years, and several key team members – including Shanea and Inesha – have been with us since 2014. In an industry where turnover is common, our longevity is something we’re genuinely proud of. It means the educators who greet your child each morning truly know them – their personality, their progress, and their potential.
Our full-time team of 11 educators and staff complete annual trainings through PA Keystone STARS as well as 22+ required Department of Human Services (DHS) trainings each year to maintain licensure and uphold our Four-Star standards.
Lisa Ballard
Meet Our Director
Lisa Ballard has dedicated her professional life to the children and families of Harrisburg. Before founding Studio Kids, she spent 11 years as a Child Care Consultant and caseworker, helping families navigate funding and access quality childcare through the Early Learning Resource Center. Since 2014, she has served as Director of Studio Kids Learning Center – growing it into the Four-Star rated center it is today.
Lisa’s philosophy is simple: treat every child and family as her own. You’ll see it in the more than 1,000 photos of former students displayed proudly throughout her office – a testament to the bonds that last long after children move on to kindergarten and beyond.
Community Connection
Studio Kids is deeply rooted in the Harrisburg community. We serve families from a wide range of backgrounds – including those supported by CCW subsidy funding – because we believe every child deserves the best possible start, regardless of circumstance.
