All paperwork, except for physical forms, must be completed before your child enters the program. All information requested on the forms must be complete. You have 30 days from the day of enrollment to return the completed physical form. We are unable to continue to provide care for any child who has not returned a completed physical after 30 days or does not get a new one annually.
The Center reserves the right to dismiss or withdrawal a child from the childcare program for reasons relative to child behavior problems and parent discrepancies.
In order to provide the proper atmosphere for child development and learning, classroom control must be maintained. All staff is responsible to take care of general discipline in their rooms. No physical punishment will be used. Time out and redirection is the only form of discipline to be used. A time out is not a punishment, but rather a means of removing the child from the situation that is causing negative behavior. Children will be separated from the group and encouraged to exhibit appropriate behavior. Whenever possible, the children are given the opportunity, and are encouraged to openly express their feelings to each other on the situation, as a means of working the problem out for themselves.
TUITION AND PAYMENT INFORMATION
- Payment is expected weekly. Money Orders should be made payable to Studio Kids Early Learning Center. Cash is also accepted. Payments are due in advance and should be made by Friday for the upcoming week. Tuition will be considered past due if not received by 6:00pm on Monday. After 6:00pm, a late charge of $5.00 per day will be assessed to your account.
- Payments not received for two consecutive weeks, will result in your child/children being withdrawn from the Center. The following steps will be taken in the event that your account becomes delinquent.
1. Written notice after one week.
2. If no response, a written termination notice will be sent one week later. The child will not be accepted into the Center after notice has been sent until account is up to date, and if space is available.
- A small additional fee may be charged for children attending field trips and other activities.
- Payment is required if your child is sick or on vacation.
- We accept private sector families and families from the subsidized program.
Student Age: 6 weeks to school age
School Hours: Monday through Friday 6:30 am-6:00 pm
Your child/children must arrive on or before 9:00 am. This allows our staff, without interruption, to provide continued child care services.

- New Years Eve
- New Years Day
- Martin Luther King Birthday
- Good Friday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Veterans Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Day after Thanksgiving
Payment will be required for school holidays.
Reminders will be posted by the staff concerning the holidays. 2 (two) hours delay in the event of a delay the Center will open up at 8:30am instead of 6:30am and the cut off time for accepting children will be 10:00 am instead of 9:00 am. No Exceptions. Delay will be advertised on ABC channel 27.
There will be an overtime charge paid for children not picked up by their predetermined pickup time. Predetermined pickup times will be determined at enrollment. The overtime charge is $1.00 per minute for each child.
WITHDRAWAL FROM PROGRAM
Once enrolled in our Center, your child is enrolled until a two week notice is given. To withdraw your child from our program, two weeks prior notice must be given in writing to the Director, or two weeks tuition will be charged. If you wish, you may re-enroll your child at a later date, providing there is a slot available for your child.
ARRIVALS AND PICK UP
Upon arrival every morning, you will need to sign your child in. Do not leave your child at the Daycare unless a staff person is there to receive and supervise your child. If you suspect you are going to be late in picking up your child, please call the Center immediately so we can reassure your child. If you pick up your child during nap time, please see that you do so quickly and quietly.
Please be sure the Center has your current work and home phone numbers, addresses, etc. If you change employment or residence, please inform the center director immediately. The emergency contact person listed on the form must be available in case of an emergency or illness if you are unable to be reached. Please consider this when choosing an emergency contact person.
TOYS FROM HOME
We ask that children leave toys at home.
SHOW AND TELL DAYS
Sharing is sometimes difficult and accidental or breakage can occur. Books and records from home are appreciated any time and the staff will take measures to insure they are cared for. Please label any books or records that your child shares with us. Toy weapons are not allowed for show and tell.
PERSONAL ITEMS AND SPARE CLOTHING
Due to the fact that there are so many duplicates of sleeping bags, lunch boxes, etc., please put your child’s name on all personal items to avoid any misplaced items. Staff will not be responsible for any items not labeled. Outside play (whenever possible) is part of the daily program through the year and children should be dressed accordingly in appropriate and comfortable play clothes. Sensible walking shoes are required. No flip-flops please. Your child needs two sets of spare clothing in case of accidents. These clothing should be brought in the first day of your child’s enrollment and should be kept up to date throughout your child’s stay with us.
BIRTHDAYS & PARTIES
We will celebrate birthdays during snack. Parents may send in birthday treats (cupcakes, cookies, juice, pizza, etc.). Please notify your child’s teacher of your plans so that she can provide songs, candles, etc. to make this a special day.
BREAKFAST & LUNCH & SNACK
Studio Kids Early Learning Center participates in the Division of Food & Nutrition program. All meals served to children under the Child and Adult Care Food program are served at no separate charge regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon Snack will be provided by the daycare. Parents may bring a packed lunch from home if they so desire. Please make sure your child arrives in time for him/her to have meals served in time with his/her class. Any complaints of discrimination should be submitted in writing within 180 days of the incident to USDA, Director, Office of Civil Rights, and Washington, D.C. 20250. Each child enrolled must have an age appropriate health appraisal form on record with the daycare as soon as possible or within 30 days of enrollment. Each child must have a thorough examination by a licensed physician. If there are any special considerations health, behavior or other needs your child requires, please inform us as early as possible in order to insure proper arrangements are made for your child. Your child’s health is a matter of major importance to all of us.
Please do not bring your child to school if he/she has any of the following symptoms:
- Fever of 100 degrees or higher
- Sore throat
- Discolored drainage from the nose
- Inflamed eyes
- Persistent cough
- Uncomfortable and needs constant attention
- Too ill to go outside for activities
Your child may be sent home if symptoms or illness occur during the day and the staff feel the health of others may be threatened. If your child is sent home, our policy is the child stays home for 24 hours before returning to the daycare. A backup babysitter is a good idea for such occasions.
Please notify the center staff immediately if your child contracts a communicable disease, i.e., chicken pox, so that the teachers may post a notice informing other parents who can take preventive measures. A doctor’s note is required for a child to return to the center following recovery from a contagious disease, specifying the date the child may return to the center.
NO OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATION CAN BE GIVEN TO A CHILD BY OUR STAFF WITHOUT WRITTEN INSTRUCTION AND WRITTEN CONSENT BY A PHYSICIAN
All medication in the facility will be kept in a place inaccessible to children. Any medication will be kept in its original prescription label, and have safety lock closures on the container. All medication requiring refrigeration will be refrigerated at the proper temperature. All medication must have the child’s name on it. Please do not leave any form of medication in your child’s lunch box, backpack, or diaper bag. It presents a hazard to any child who might find it. Parents will sign the medication chart mandated by DPW if there child needs medication. All children in our preschool and toddler rooms are required to nap or rest quietly from approximated 1:00pm to 3:00pm each day. Each child may bring a labeled small blanket and pillow from home for nap time. Blankets will be sent home to be washed every Friday and should be returned Monday morning.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY
Staff cannot release children to any parent or authorized person that appears to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. For the child’s safety, staff will have no recourse but to contact the police. Please DO NOT put the staff in a position where they have to make this judgment call.
It will be the responsibility of the parent to provide your child with diapers, pull-ups and wipes. Staff will remind you when you are getting low on your supply. If your child should run out of their supplies, and we take from our supply, a $1.00 per diaper will be charged. A notice will be placed in your child’s cubbies box for any amount you owe.
We welcome parents to visit our center anytime and observe their children in the classroom environment. Studio Kids Early Learning Center hopes to maintain close, positive relationships with the parents of the children in our program. It is our wish that you attend any/all parent meetings and functions. We encourage parents to volunteer time in the classrooms. While we recognize that this may be impossible for some parents, we appreciate any time that you can spend. You may be able to share lunch with your child or help out on a field trip.
GRIEVANCES OR COMPLAINTS
PoliciesProblems pertaining to the daycare, or any of the staff working there should be brought directly to the Director and not to any other staff. If there is a problem that cannot be settled by the Director, a meeting will be scheduled with the parent(s) concerning the issue.
